#1 Volcano Bay

Located in Florida at the Universal Orlando Resort is its third newest theme park, Volcano Bay! Scheduled to open on May 25th, the Volcano Bay Water Park is sure to cool you down this coming summer season. The highlight of the park is its two hundred foot tall Krakatau Volcano located right in the center of the park. Inside of the Volcano is the awesome Krakatau Aqua Coaster that has twists, turn, and drops the whole family is sure to love. Volcano Bay also hosts an epic one hundred & twenty five foot tall body slide (trap-door) known as the Ko’okiri Body Plung! The park will also be introducing its new TapuTapu wearable device. This device will cut your wait time in half as it notifies you when it’s your turn to ride no matter where you are in the park, helping you to avoid waiting in a long line. All you need to do is tap your device at the desired attraction to reserve your place in line.

#2 H20BX

Powells Point, North Carolina H20BX

Located in Powells Point, North Carolina is the brand new H20BX Water Park. Opening on Memorial Day weekend, the H20BX Water Park will feature a variation of thirty water slides and attractions. You have the designers of the White Water West organization to thank for this water park and its magnificent rides including, an Adventure Lagoon, Flowrider surf simulator, and Pirate-themed play structure. For the younger crowd there will be a separate set of tube slides in a swim safe area.

#3 Great Wolf Lodge

Located in Colorado Springs, Colorado is the Great Wolf Lodge indoor water park and resort. The Great Wolf Lodge is known as an all in one destination! Its fifty thousand square foot water park offers a 360 loop trapdoor drop slide, Fort Mackenzie splash house, wave pool and not to mention its five story Howlin’ Tornado funnel slide. While the hotel itself offers beautiful views of the the Rocky Mountains and Pikes Peak. The Colorado location is Great Wolf Lodge’s 14th addition to their chain! Keep in mind that in order to attend this amazing water park you must be a Great Wolf Lodge hotel guest! (this rule massively reduces overcrowding)

#4 Cedar Pointe Shores Water Park

Located in Sandusky, Ohio is the Cedar Pointe Shores Water Park! Once known as the Soak City waterpark, the newly redesigned Cedar Pointe Shores waterpark features 18 acres of wonderful attractions. The four newest attractions to the waterpark include a six story, quad passenger slide - Point Plummet, a five story raft slide - Portside Plunge, an all ages splash zone - Lemmy’s Lagoon, and Lakeslide Landing a complex for the younger crowd. Not to mention the park overlooks beautiful Lake Erie!

#5 Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park

Located in Lake Buena Vista, Florida is Disney’s newest waterpark, Typhoon Lagoon. With rides like Miss Adventure Falls, a two minute raft ride, and talking animatronic birds, like Duncan the Parrot, the whole family is sure to adore the new wet and wild park. Typhoon Lagoon Water park is 61 acres wide of family filled fun.

#6 Splash Island

Splash Island Valdosta, Georgia

Located in Valdosta, Georgia is the Wild Adventures theme park! Wild Adventures theme park will be opening its newest area to the public this coming summer known as Splash Island waterpark. Ohana Bay in Splash Island will feature seven new surfing themed waterslides! Five of the slides will welcome surfers of all ages while the remaining two are almost three stories tall and only welcome the bravest waterpark attendees! The park is totally family friendly as it hosts a kid friendly zone as well.

#7 Knott’s Soak City

Located in Buena Park, California is the legendary Knott’s Soak City. This summer the waterpark will be debuting two new waterslide towers. The Wedge tower will offer six riders a raft ride full of drops, twists, and turns! While the Shorebreak tower offers four riders seven stories of a dueling tube ride complete a with drop slide to boot! Knott’s Soak City has also remodeled its seating areas which now feature more private cabanas, shaded seating, and newly redesigned Longboard Grill eatery.

#8 Dollywood’s Splash Country

Located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee is Dollywood’s Splash Country. This summer Splash Country water park will be introducing its newest attraction addition, the TailSpin Racer! The multi-lane slide will feature high speed races between up to five guests on mats through twisting and tunneling tubes. The tubes are over five stories high and the length of the ride is that of a football field. The highlight of the ride is its ergonomically designed start platform that will drop you into the slide at only the highest of speeds!

#9 Legoland Water Park

Located in Carlsbad, California is the noteworthy Legoland Amusement Park. This summer Legoland will be opening yet another attraction, Surfer’s Cove! Surfer’s Cove will feature all age friendly racing slides, interactive water lego sets and jets in the Bay Splash playground.

Located in Corpus Christi, Texas is the Schlitterbahn Riverpark! The Padre Plunge, a fifteen seater boat ride, is the park's newest attraction! Named after North Padre Island, the ride features a notable forty five foot drop! Plus, the twenty foot splash zone will not only drench its riders but also any nearby spectators!

Located in Erie, Pennsylvania is the historic Waldameer Park. This summer the park will add a new area to its grounds, Water World! The water park will feature an 1812 Battle of Lake Erie theme. The splash ground itself will host a forty foot climbing structure that includes seven slides, a four hundred gallon dump bucket, and over one hundred interactive water attractions. The highlight of the park is its replica of the U.S. Brig Niagara, Erie’s tallest sailing ship.

Located in Sevierville, Tennessee is the Wilderness Smokies Waterpark Resort and Family Adventure Center known as Treehouse Springs. Located in Branson, Missouri is the Silver Dollar City’s newly redesigned Coconut Cove Kids area! The brand new kids area will feature five slides, tipping buckets, four water blasters, bubbler fountains, hose jets and much much more. Coconut Cove was specifically designed with the littlest of swimmers in mind! The rest of Silver Dollar City’s water park is geared towards the older crowd with jaw dropping attractions.
